Nick
Mental Health Counselor
My name is Nick, and I am a psychotherapist and the author of Mind-Body Reset: The Psychology of Weight Loss.
My goal is to assist you in enhancing various aspects of your life using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have a background in Social Work and specialized in CBT at Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden.
Since 2015, I have worked with individuals and groups facing a range of life challenges, including addictions, depression, anxiety, weight loss and obesity, communication skill deficits, divorce, and many others.
I hold the belief that life’s difficulties serve a purpose: they provoke us to activate ourselves, to adapt, and to learn from the experiences.
Admittedly, this is easier said than done, but what’s the alternative? Remaining passive and accepting our misery leads nowhere. It is only when we confront challenges with optimism and hope that we can initiate positive change. Optimism isn’t about living in a “positive bubble” or suppressing emotions with positive thinking; it’s about recognizing life’s challenges while still maintaining hope for a brighter future.
Who am I? I am a married Christian man with a zeal for training, music, philosophy, and, most significantly, my work. It’s a genuine pleasure to work as a therapist. I consider myself fortunate to have the chance to engage in work I love, connecting with and supporting individuals through their struggles, and sharing my knowledge. I believe in living a virtuous life: there are no rewards without work and effort. As humans, we must heed our internal voice or conscience, guiding us through life’s events. This voice is crucial to me, and the more attuned I am to it, the more I find balance, harmony, and alignment with my true purpose. I try to remember that I don’t know everything about this world. I’ve learned that believing I understand everything leads to stagnation; learning requires acknowledging that there is always more to discover. My passion for health and training stems from the belief that a lifestyle of daily movement and healthy eating connects me to my nature, bringing internal peace and happiness. To me, happiness should stem from within rather than external stimuli like material possessions or fame. It’s not about what you have, but how you hold it. My family, relatives, and friends are of immense importance. I believe that true joy is found in relationships with others and with God. This perspective may run counter to modern individualism, where worth and happiness are often measured in material terms. I maintain that life’s joy primarily comes from human connections and self-expression, whether through art, building, or other creative endeavors. Embracing your inner child’s passions in a balanced way and cultivating relationships is what I believe to be the cornerstone of both physical and mental health.
